Abstract

Terminalia catappa L. belongs to family Combretaceae mostly cultivated as ornamental foliage tree which is commonly known as ‘Indian Almond ’or ‘Deshi Badam ’. It is a popular medicinal plant in Asia. Almost all parts of this plant are used in preparation of different medicines. As ‘Deshi Badam ’is widely used medicinal plant it increases the chances of adulteration. Present paper deals with the detail morphological, anatomical and maceration studies of bark, wood, petiole and leaves in order to characterize and standardize the species to find out the adulteration.
