Mutagenic effect of ethyl methane sulphonate and sodium azide on plant height in M2 and M3 generations of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.). Kashid Navnath G. Dept of Botany, Baburaoji Adaskar Mahavidyalaya, Kaij, Dist: Beed. MS. India. 431123 Online published on 27 August, 2019. Abstract During present investigation effect of ethyl methane sulphonate (EMS) and sodium azide (SA) was studied on chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) cv BDN 9–3 and PG-5. Both had different quantitative characters in M2 and M3 generations. They showed variability in plant height due to the treatments of EMS and SA. Higher concentrations of mutagens, showed positive shift with regards to the plant height in both cultivars in M2 and M3 generations. Top Keywords Plant height, EMS, SA, chickpea, M2 and M3 generations. Top | |
