Emerging problems of farm mechanization in Karnal district of Haryana state

Abstract

The study has been conducted in four villages of Karnal district from eastern zone of Haryana state during 1999–2000. It was a pioneer attempt to identify the problems of small, medium and large farmers having at least any two farm machineries in the changing scenario of farm mechanization. An overwhelming majority of the farmers were facing the problems regarding repair of machinery, maintenance of machinery, skill development, custom hiring service, under utilization of machinery etc. and among these, small farmers constituted majority.
