Phytohormone producing azospirillum from pepper (Piper nigrum L.) rhizosphere Varma C.K. Abstract A study conducted to isolate and characterise native strains of Azospirillum from pepper rhizosphere capable of producing phytohormone, specially the Indole acetic acid (IAA) has revealed that out of sixteen native isolates obtained from different pepper cultivars, Isolate 34 produced maximum IAA (69 μg/ml of culture broth). The production of this hormone was maximum during second week of culture growth. Top | | |
