Abstract This On Farm Study was carried out in district Panipat of Haryana state to compare the zero tillage and conventional tillage in wheat with respect to effect on weeds and crops. The population of Phalaris minor was consistently lower in zero tillage than conventional tillage. However, the reverse trend was observed with respect to broad leaf weeds. The zero tillage was found to have edge over the conventional practice in yield and returns. The production cost was reduced by Rs. 1998/ha while the net additional returns obtained in zero tillage was Rs. 3067/ha. No adverse effect of zero tillage was observed in the performance of succeeding crop of Basmati rice in terms of yield and pest incidence. The study revealed visible impact of zero tillage which will have good popularity in the district. Top | | |
