Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during Kar 2001, to identify the suitable botanicals having weed suppression characters under puddled condition. Six botanies viz., Abutilon indicum, Trichodesma indicum, Cassia auriculata, Parthenium hysterophorus, Jatropha gossypifolia, Lantana camara were incorporated a three application rates viz., 5, 7.5 and 10 t ha−1. The study revealed that Lantana camara, Parthenium hysterophorus and Cassia auriculata incorporation each @ 10 t −1 significantly reduced the weed density and weed drymatter production and showed better weed control efficiency over other treatments.
