Online published on 26 November, 2013. Abstract The life cycle consists of egg, four larval instars (L1, L2, L3 & L4), pupa and adult. The egg hatched in 4–5 days. The larval duration varied from 13–17 days. The result of morphometric measurements revealed that the average length and breadth of eggs were 0.40± 0.02 and 0.30± 0.01, respectively. The mean length and breadth of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4thinstar larvae were 1.29± 0.07, 3.45± 0.08, 6.41± 0.09, 9.13± 0.01 and 0.21± 0.01, 0.69± 0.01, 1.14± 0.02, 1.49± 0.03, respectively. The average length and breadth of male and female adults were 4.45± 0.02, 5.53±0.08 and 0.08± 0.02, 0.92±0.02, respectively. The total life cycle lasted 22–23 days.
