Abstract

Pathogenicity of the fungus was proved in vitro with three isolate of Colletolrichum gloeosporioides and one isolate of C. capslici collected from the betelvine Research Station, Divthana (Akot) and betelvine orchards of Anjangaon (Surgi), in Vidharbha region of Maharashtra. Among these isolates, I was most virulent resulting in 60.6 PDI. Among the eight media tested, PDA was found to be the best for growth and abundant sporulation followed by Wackman's agar medium. Ten fungicides and neem leaf extract was screened by PFT against all the four isolate. Out of which. Bordeaux mixture 1% was found most effective to inhibit mycelial growth by 90.7% and spore inhibition by 93.5% over control. This was followed by 0.1% carbendazim (85.7, 83.7) and 0.25% mancozeb (76.5%, 77.9%), respectively. Neem leaf extract (5%) was less effective of mycelial growth and spore germination.
