Abstract

During cropping season 2003–2004, maximum late blight severity was recorded in early planted Kufri Bahar (20th Oct) while early planted Kufri Sutlej had significantly less incidence of disease. Late planted (10th Nov) Kufri Bahar showed less disease and no disease was recorded in case of late planted Kufri Sutlej. During 2004–2005, 20th Oct. planted and 30th Oct planted Kufri Bahar showed more disease severity where late sown potato showed less disease severity. Early and normal planted potato cultivar, Kufri Sutlej showed more disease severity. Early planted crop showed good progress of disease as compare to normal and late planted crop. Tuber yield decreased with delay in planting dates. Early planting gave more tuber yield as compared to normal and late planted crop for both potato cultivars.
