Evaluation of poison bait traps for trapping adult fruit fly Nath P., Bhushan S. Department of Entomology & Agril. Zool., Institute of Agricultural Sciences, B.H.U., Varanasi–221 005, India. Abstract The population of adult fruit fly was trapped maximum in the banana based poison bait trap [banana (1 kg) + carbofuran (10 g) + yeast (10 g) + citric acid (5 g)]. The population was recorded maximum in 25th and 41st standard week during summer and rainy seasons, respectively. The correlation coefficients values of relative humidity in relation to fly population were positive in summer and negative in rainy season. Considering the temperature with population factor although it was negative in summer but during rainy season, value was positive with maximum temperature and negative with minimum temperature. Rainfall showed positive correlation coefficient in summer which was reversed in rainy season. Top Key words Abiotic factors, Bait trap, Bactrocera cucurbitae. Top | | | |
