Effect of Foliar Spray of Chaetomium globosum on Total Protein, Ntirogen and Carbon Contents of Wheat Biswas S.K., Srivastava K.D., Biswas D.R.*, Aggarwal R. Division of Plant Pathology, I.A.R.I., New Delhi 11 0 012, India. * Division of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, I.A.R.I., New Delhi 110 012, India. Abstract Foliar spray of crude extract of Chaetomium globosum caused biochemical changes in wheat and accounted for high contents of total protein (15.71%) nitrogen (2.90%) in treated wheat seedlings. Carbon contents also increased but in terms of C:N ratio the quantity of C proved to be lowest. An increase in proteins and nitrogen levels appears to be an indicative of artificial activation of defense mechanism in wheat against Drechslera sorokiniana. Top Key words Carbon, Chaetomium globosum, Nitrogen, Total protein, Wheat. Top | | |
