Online published on 2 January, 2017. Abstract The present investigation was carried out to evaluate the fastness properties of natural dye from the bark extracts of T. arjuna belongs to family combretaceae at different soaking periods (2 h, 5 h and 10 h) on bleached silk yarn. The dye has good scope in the commercial dyeing of mulberry silk in garments industry. The dyed samples have shown good washing, perspiration (acid, alkali), light and rubbing (dry and wet) fastness properties. Based on soaking period fastness grades also changed. The colour strength and CIELAB values were measured by computer colour matching software. Top Keywords Natural dye, Terminalia, colour fastness and measurements. Top | |
