Abstract

Demarcating the southern perimeter of the Kushāna empire has always been a matter of debate among indologists. The conundrum can be resolved by corroborating the information gleaned from the Paunī stone pillar inscription of Rupiamma and Rabatak inscription of Kanishka. Furthermore, once it is established that Vidarbha was under Kanishka's hegemony, its helps in solving a glitch in the Kushāna-Sātavāhana chronology.
