Abstract Bodos are culturally distinct, lover of music, danceand have a very rich musical heritage since time immemorial. Music is regarded as a medium of expressing joy and sorrows by the Bodos. The traditional musical instruments of the Bodos are-Kham, Siphung, Serja, Jotha, Jabkhring, Janjengra, Khawang, Gangona, Bingi, and Thorkha. These instruments are made by themselves from natural resources which areavailable around them and are of fine quality. This study will identify and describe the traditional musical instruments of the Bodos and was conducted in villages under Kokrajhar district-Simbargaon, Tipkai, Bhumka, Gossaigaon, Dotma, Ramani Ashram and Boragari.
