Abstract Female outmigration is an important phenomenon in the migration study. They migrated more compared to male due to marriage purpose, but their migration for the economic purpose is not ignorable. East Rarh Plain region shows extremely high rate of average female outmigration. Haora district shows decreasing rate of female outmigration but other three districts experienced increasing rate of female outmigration since 1981. Marriage is the main reason for high rate of female outmigration in any region. Another important reason is enhancement in the level of female literacy.
