Strategic Tools to Push Metropolis: An Exploratory Study on the Perpetual Development in Expansion of Bangalore City

Abstract

The first section of the paper will explain the Economic performance of the Bangalore Development Authority with respect to financial transactions in revenue realizations and expenditure incurred. Details of budget is analyzed based on the classifications of capital receipts and expenditure as well revenue receipts and expenditure. Secondly, an extension along with classification, collaboration with financial institutions, two other transaction extensions like loans and advances and as well the deposits is analyzed. These floating funds are kept as reserves in order to carry out its progressive transactions for the development purposes. The paper will also discuss the planning functions and development functions of the Bangalore Development Authority and the number of departments involved in the various developmental activities. Effectiveness of its existence is recognized in two tactical ways, one, is with respect to zoning and the other is Comprehensive Development Plan. These two strategic tools implemented in order to process and push the city towards an orderly development. Zoning is underlined with defined guidelines and principles. While Comprehensive Development Plan and its approach is based on certain factors before identifying for future development.
