Abstract Fairs and festivals reflect cultural life of people and play important role in cultural survival and harmony. These are most important activity for the people belonging to a group as it helps in renewing social contacts. The purpose of the study is to give descriptive account of various fairs and festival, which are celebrated by the Hatti community. For this study, data were collected with the help of interview guide and in-depth interviews. During the course of study, various similarities in culture and practices have surfaced between the Hatti and the Jaunsari.
