Abstract

The Doctor-Patient relationship is an indispensable part of healthcare. For the delivery of high quality health care, the real meaning of this relationship is necessary to understand. Various studies emphasized on fact that the doctor-patient relationship shapes one of the foundations of contemporary medical ethics. On the other hand, studies also reveal that the changing world has altered the attitudes of this profession. A shift from the holistic approach to health consumer approach has been observed from the last few years due to commercialization, legalization and awareness among patient community. This transformation in medical field is certainly changing the Doctor-Patient Relationship to some extent. Hence, the main objective of this paper is to emphasize the elements which have their impact on Doctor-Patient relationship. To attain this purpose a series of articles, books and published documents and materials have been reviewed.
