Abstract

Advanced power systems intermittently function with heavily loaded lines which results higher transmission power loss in electrical power system. The voltage stability is the capability of a power system to preserve the standard voltages at all the buses even with variable changes in electrical power. This paper establishes an efficient method for reactive power control. In order to optimize the reactive power and reduce the transmission line loss, the DG unit is integrated with IEEE 14 bus at the point of consumption which reduces the power loss, current harmonic, feeder line loss related with power transmission and distribution. For doing the above said this paper uses SPS (sim power system toolbox) a MATLAB based simulink and simulation toolbox which utilizes Newton Rapson method for load flow solution.
