Abstract In the present study the influence of nanoZrC particles on the dry sliding wear behavior of Cu - Cr alloy composites produced by powder metallurgy method has been explored. The reinforcement percentage was varied from 0 wt. % to 8 wt. %. The consequences indicated that with the accumulation of nanoZrC particles into the matrix reduce the wear loss correspondingly. The tribologicalbehavior of composites was studied by SEM and pin on disc apparatus. Reinforcement wt. %, load and sliding distance were taken as the process parameters. Response surface methodology has been used to plan and analyze the experiment. Consequences indicated that the sliding distance and load are the most influencing parameter on wear loss of composites.
