Abstract DDoSattack has become a major threat in the area of networks. In this paper a new scheme called PIT_QA (Passive IP Traceback with Quantum Annealing) for defending and filtering DDoS attack is proposed. In PIT_QA the malicious behaviour of a node is detected immediately by validating the node characteristics. Behavior variation and deviation among the devices are considered to classify whether the attacks are present in the network or not. Consequently, spoofed packets are filtered to improve the quality of the network. PIT_QA is lightweight and robust. It also shows that when the attack rate is high the sooner the attack can be detected. Top Keywords DDoS, Quantum annealing, IP spoofing, IP traceback. Top |
