Abstract

Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) has received extensive attention for continuous monitoring of patients. Routing plays a major role in WBAN to collect the sensed data and route through relay nodes to reach the destined nodes with minimize energy consumption and routing time. This paper proposes the use of a Wireless Body Sensor Network communication framework based on the Multi Agent Model (MAM) called, Linear Programming and Stackelberg Equilibrium (LP-SE) to ensure energy efficient routing for WBAN. The MAM in the LP-SE interacts to a group of agents (i.e. sensing agent and communication agent) and cooperates to achieve energy efficient routing protocol. The sensing agent in the LP-SE sense the data collects the data from WBAN sensor nodes and classifies it according to the emergency constrained model, reducing routing time and energy consumption. The communication agent in the LP-SE performs energy based routing protocol by applying the Linear Programming Single Hop Communication and Stackelberg Equilibrium Multi Hop Communication model. To handle multiple patients’ information, the LP-SE used Linear Programming and Stackelberg Equilibrium function for single hop and multi hop communication respectively to the generated data in WBAN. Based on the LP-SE, experiment has been conducted on factors such as response time, energy consumption based on WBAN sensor node. Successive simulations in large-scale WBAN show good performance of the proposal in terms of response time, energy consumption and packet delivery rate.
