Abstract Background This research primarily focuses on quality of service life of faculty, the antecedents and effect in Business schools (B-schools) at Bengaluru, the capital city in Karnataka state, South India. Attention and research on B-schools has been predominantly on rankings and placements. Purpose/Objectives The purpose of this paper is to identify and analyse the antecedents of quality of service life as perceived by faculty. It also endeavours to study the impact of socio-demographics on study variables. Design/Methodology/Approach Exploratory research helped identify antecedents of quality of service life in B-schools. Descriptive research aided the measurement of impact of such variables. Causal research facilitated the study of causal relations between variables. Primary data was collected through administration of structured questionnaire. The survey was undertaken in B-schools affiliated to two universities. Statistical analysis entailed univariate and bivariate analysis besides Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). Findings The findings indicate the impact of variables on quality of service life in B-schools. It also demonstrates the nature of causal relations between study variables. Research Limitations Serviscescapes in academia as well as faculty behaviour and terms of service may entail frequent changes. The study context is limited to the academic setting, especially, B-schools in Bengaluru. The study cannot be generalised and research at the state or nation-level may produce diffferent results. Practical Implications The constructs in the study are informative and foster a holistic view on workplace settings and influencers of internal service quality. It would equip educational institutions to better comprehend service life and facilitate strategies for quality and excellence in servicescape and related factors. Originality/Value The paper provides new insights on variables impacting the quality of service life in B-school servicescape. The findings stem from anlaysis of primary data and outcomes enables better comprehension of prevailing situation. The analysis provides significant insights for policy makers and facilitators.
