Abstract Newspaper printing always means supplying high quantity & quality in a short time. The aim is to categorize the parameters of the printing process, ink and printing press responsible for the occurrence of paper waste in a pressroom. As per the print estimation statistics paper occupies the 80–85% of newspaper production cost. Considering paper waste as the most significant factor the investigation done on paper in accordance with press room, press materials, and print equipment & machinery in regular production schedule. It include process waste like energy, printing paper, ink, dampening solution, plate, blanket and cleaning solvents which need special attention and optimization. These investigations provide guidelines for testing the materials like paper, ink, equipments and other chemicals used for production also converting newspaper print industry green by reducing CO2 emissions to 23% that bring down carbon foot print.
