An Empirical Study on Role Stress Encountered by Frontline Managers in Private Life Insurance Companies Dr. Devi P. Praba* *Associate Professor, Sona College of Technology, Salem Online published on 3 May, 2016. Abstract The current study focuses on the role stress and its impact on the front line managers in the life insurance industry. Stress affects the individuals in terms of mental health and physical health, impacting their performance in the organization. This article attempts to study the role stress factors as perceived by the frontline managers, its association with their profile variables and its impact in terms of burnout. The front line managers numbering to 512 working in the private life insurance companies operating in Salem has been taken into consideration for the study. Suitable objectives have been framed and data collected were subjected to analysis with the use of suitable statistical tools. The findings and managerial implication are discussed.
