Abstract Organizational Citizenship Behaviors (OCB) gained magnitude in the field of OB which can be treated as an important outcome variable to create an effective organization and an efficient workforce. A motivated employee energizes himself and the workforce around him which may result in Organizational Citizenship Behavior. This research attempts to find the mediating role of hygiene factors in the relationship between motivation factors and Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) among 400 operational and supervisory level textile mill employees in Coimbatore District of Tamilnadu in India. 420 questionnaires were distributed to Supervisory and Operational level employees of six medium scale textile mills. 400 valid responses were obtained. Cronbach's Alpha statistic was used in order to check the reliability of the scale and for testing the hypothesis regression, correlation and Sobel's test was used. The results of this study showed that both hygiene and motivation factors positively influence Organizational Citizenship Behavior. The results also revealed that hygiene factors acts as a booster and shows partial mediation between motivation factors and OCB. Directions for future research were also discussed.
