Abstract

The Rainfall forecasting has been one of the major important issues for the countries having agro-based economy. It is one of the most complex issues in the field of the monsoon meteorology due to the variability of the spatial and temporal factors are affecting the rainfall. Furthermore, the rainfall forecasting approaches are not only useful to the flood management systems but also it will help the farmers to take the advantage of the rainfall. The proposed system aimed to develop an integrated approach based on Artificial Neural Network and Fuzzy Logic for rainfall forecasting. The forecasted results are compared with existing models and it proves that the proposed system performs better in all the aspects. The obtained results show that the integrated approach provides a robust framework with more accuracy when comparing to the accuracy of either model separately.
