Abstract The dynamic and changing nature of MANET makes the routing as one of the major challenging task while transmitting the packets. As a result the drop rate and overhead due to generation of control packet is increased, this affects the performance of MANET. To solve this, Signal Strength and Trip_time based Ant Colony Routing Protocol (ST-ACRP) is proposed which helps to find the reliable path between source and destination rather than the shortest path alone. In the proposed ST-ACRP, signal strength and trip_time are used to compute the new pheromone value. The path with highest pheromone value is used for data transmission. The simulation results shows that the improvement in performance compared to the existing AOMDV protocol. Top Keywords MANET, RSS, Trip_time, Pheromone, Ant colony optimization. Top |
