Abstract

Lean Six Sigma (LSS) is the best techniques for continuous improvement and achieve quality and operational excellence (Antony et al., 2012). A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted for the purpose of finding the Challenges, Laws, Needs, Tools, Success and Failures of LSS and report its findings. The SLR process begun by gathering research papers reporting on LSS. Due to restricted search in four data bases led to 50 LSS articles. On reviewing, these papers, it was found that, these papers deal with as many as five topics related to LSS. The review of these papers brought out the challenges and its hurdle in LSS implementation. Further, the need for LSS in any organization. Because of the synergy of the Lean and Six Sigma led to variety of tools. So, strategic selection of this tools plays a vital role in LSS implementation in organisation. This observation implies that several study highlighted the factors necessary for LSS success in several sectors. Although LSS has found wide applications, it has failed in some occasion due to certain factors. In the context of these explanations, this paper is concluded by considering the future scope for research.
