Abstract In the rapidly changing economic era of globalization and industrialization, tourism sector has emerged as one of the world‘s largest industries. Tourism is the economic activity which provides services to the tourists including a whole gamut of activities like transport & hospitality; guide and travel services; travel publication and writers; arts and crafts, etc. The main objective of this study is to understand the people‘s perception regarding the tourism and its impact on environmental and other developmental activities. The data collected through questionnaire from 150 sample respondents were analyzed by using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the help of IBM SPSS AMOS 20.0. This study has clearly stated that the respondents attach more values to Assurance to Service Quality on Tamil Nadu Tourism. It could be very well concluded that the hypothesized six-factor model fits the sample data. Based on the viability and statistical significance of important parameter estimates; it is considerably good fit of the model. In the present competitive environment, to improve service quality up to the level of customers, Tourism department of Tamil Nadu has to conduct survey at least once in a year to elicit public opinion regarding tourism development in Tamil Nadu.
