Wife Beating: A Clear and Cruel Projection of 'Justified Patriarchy' Arora Navneet Assistant Professor, Panjab University, India Online published on 4 March, 2016. Abstract Wife beating is a fact of everyday life for many women. However, it is a problem that has rarely been systematically studied. This paper uses a case study method to study the issue of wife beating of women working as domestic workers in a small semi urban area Doraha in a progressive state of Punjab. The qualitative evidence indicates that while wife-beating seems relatively common, the most severe cases occur when husbands are in a drunken state. Top Keywords Patriarchy, masculinity, feminity, gendering, wife beating. Top | |
