Abstract The industrial revolution has brought uneven challenges for south Asia and India as a whole. Though India has the strong economic linkage with Gulf countries in order to meet energy security challenges but still the distribution and supply of energy within the neighbour countries is the big question for India. The reluctant mentalities of neighbour countries are not only hesitating to allow the pipeline to pass through their countries but also to export their surplus energy resources in which they are blessed with. In this regard the intervention of external power also matter in this energy politics. Thus the geopolitics in energy cooperation and security become the fundamental focus while making the foreign policy. Unless the bilateral as well multilateral talk, it is not possible to progress. In order to understand energy security and economic security, India should initiate to create the market for whole South Asia and should avoid the reluctance mentality, though it has political disturbance with neighbour.
