Facebook and youth: Depression and other health issues are the offshoots of over use of facebook

Abstract

In today's highly technological world, everyone tries to rely on latest technology and communication such as computer, laptop, internet, mobile phones etc in order to make their life progressive and comfortable in all respects. Internet is globally used directly or indirectly by almost everyone worldwide and has influenced the every nock and corner of almost all individuals on globe by making them dependent, addicted and habitual of its use. The impact of internet in general and social networking site in particular is mostly on youth users due of their high internet user proportion worldwide. Although there are various social networking sites but facebook is regarded as the most popular one over the others and is considered a best source to get connected to various known as well as unknown users within or outside their country in order to either establish relations online through chatting. The use of internet in general and social networking sites like facebook in particular may have a positive effect on users as far as enhancement of friend circle and providing other sorts of information on one click is concerned but its continuous and improper use may also indulge them in countless negative consequences ranging from depression to other health related issues and concerns.
