An empirical study of socio-economic analysis of tribal households in Saiha district of mizoram in North East India Dr. Sundaram A. Associate Professor, Department of Economics, Govt. Saiha College, Mizoram University, India. Abstract Saiha District of Mizoram in North East India is located between Myanmar and Bangladesh border.Most of the people are engaged in agriculture. Jhum cultivation is the principal method of cultivation. In the absence of any large, medium and small-scale industry, only a few cottage industries exist. The main aim of this paper is to analyse the trend and pattern of Socio-economic development of this District of Mizoram in North East India. This research is based on primary and secondary data. This study analyses how far Socio economic development of this District of Mizoram in North East India has affected a number of services such as income, expenditure, saving, consumption, age, family size, education, employment status, occupational structure, time factor, credit facilities, infrastructural facilities and land pattern etc. The study has presented its findings, and Suggestions.
