Abstract Handloom industry is the way of life for many more millions of people in India. Having a glorious past this industry's present is questionable and blurry future due to a lot of problems that are acting behind the scene. The main objective of this paper is to identify the various problems of handloom industry. For this purpose open ended questionnaire regarding major problems is used. The analysis is based on primary data sources as well as secondary data.
