Abstract In India, people with disabilities are amongst the most marginalized sections of society irrespective of caste, creed and community. The social problem of physically challenged children is a common phenomenon observed by administrators, public workers and educationists. Researches on these problems can be said to be neglected. This study has been undertaken to investigate social problems of physically challenged children in Greater Guwahati Area, Assam at a glance. For the present study 100 children were selected ranging from 6 to 14 years age by applying simple random sampling technique. In order to study social problems of the children, the investigators has prepared 10(ten) different social traits on the basis of behavioural characteristics. The data have been analyzed and interpreted and significance of difference has also been calculated between deaf and dumb and blind on account of their social problems.
