Online published on 6 March, 2013. Abstract The simple and reproducible high-performance thin-layer chromatographic method was used for the finger print study of ethyl acetate extract and dichloromethane fractionate of Samanea saman (Jacq.) Merr. Phytochemical examination of the extracts and fractionates revealed presence of significant phyto constituents. The study shows that HPTLC can be successfully used in the qualitative and quantitative determination of compounds in plant extracts. The phytochemical importance of the extracts of Samanea saman is also evident from the results. Top Keywords Samanea saman(Jacq.) Merr, HPTLC, Phytochemical screening. Top | |
