Abstract SBI, being the biggest and the first bank to be nationalized in India along with its subsidiaries, converting from the Imperial Bank in the year 1955, the bank has seen many phases. In the research conducted, SBI's performance between the years – (1990–2012) has been scrutinized. The bank has been evaluated on the basis of the Non-performing assets, analysis on the basis of Profitability, the services which SBI offered between these years, profit and loss of the bank has been discussed. The paper also consists of the graph which was made on our analysis of the profits and loss of the State Bank of India. An analysis has been made using covariance and mean in order to understand the Profit After Tax with respect to Working Fund capital. The paper also discusses the initial growth and the history of SBI including a tender introduction on present status of the bank worldwide.
