Abstract A broad definition of financial inclusion refers to the delivery of financial system at an economy to its members. The Government of India's Committee (Rangarajan Committee's Report, 2008) on ‘Financial Inclusion in India'defines financial inclusion ‘as the process of ensuring access to financial services and timely adequate credit where needed by vulnerable groups such as the weaker sections and low income groups at an affordable cost’.
