Investment Pattern of Life Insurance Industry during Post Reform Period

Abstract

The robust financial system of India, the Life Insurance industry stands as a gigantic financial service organization in the insurance sector. Insurance markets in India are showing clear signs of expansion towards achievement of sustainable growth. The reports explore underlying trends in growth of insurers. Investment of accumulated resources by the insurer facilitates the overall development of the country. Has the investment portfolio composition of life insurance companies shifted over time? Does regulation have impact on portfolio investments? In this research paper has been analyzed to answer these questions. The study concludes the investment pattern by life insurers have been on the rise both absolutely and relatively with respect to central government securities, investment subject to exposure norms, infrastructure and social sector is a welcome feature.
