Abstract The objective of this article is to identify the strategic nature of logistics and Supply Chain Management (SCM) as it appears in the general management to have a vision about the diffusion of logistic knowledge in the sciences of Management. It is based on the analysis of article published between 2001 and 2018 in logistics and management journals accessible online: The international journals of logistics management, Harvard Business Review, Revue Française Management, Management and Future, The Management Science Journal, The international journal of physical distribution & logistics management. We discuss the transportation and goods planning diffused in the literature. Now we are able to infer that logistics is part of supply chain management, as well as logistics is the flow management and supply chain is the management of flows.
