Abstract With a view to achieving the overall development of the food processing industries of the Kokrajhar Districts of Assam (India), it is immensely important to conduct an empirical study on insight of some major problematic dimensions of these industries. Keeping in view this purpose, the present study aims at identifying some major problems which stand on the way of establishing these industries as strong tools of accelerating inclusive growth of the district under study. India doing so mainly six problematic dimensions are taken to be studied. These are infrastructural problem, human resource problem, marketing problem, financial problem, production problem and other problem. This empirical study is exclusively based on data and information compiled from the selected industries. The study is not only restricted to identify the root causes of these problems but also appropriate attempt is taken to put forward some suitable measures for removing these problems. After going throughout the study it is revealed that there is a highest problem in the category of infrastructure problem as compared to other problems as because it carries highest average value, i.e., 43.08 whereas, production problem is found to be lowest than that of the others which carries lowest average value, i.e., 22.68. Hence it is suggested that it is the right time to adopt a dynamic policy so far as their core business activities are concerned, so that they can capture all possible opportunities brought by changing economic environment.
