Abstract The exponential growth of internet, spiraling cost of instructor led education and the need to educate large number of people in the shortest possible time has resulted in rapid growth of e-learning. E-learning is seen as an effective and popular medium of learning by corporates and higher education institutes. Massive Open Online Courses [MOOCs] from reputed institutions offer open and free courses. Also several educational organisations offer skill enhancement/development courses via on-line learning. Diffusion and adoption of these courses is dependent on the students completing these courses which in turn is dependent on service quality and the satisfaction. While there are many players involved in e-learning like course developers, instructional designers, multimedia designers etc., it is the views of the users especially his perception of quality and service, that decided the success of the program. This paperevaluates the research that has been done in the area of e-learning quality and satisfaction, primarily from the user perspective and also attempts to develop a new framework for assessing e-learning service quality. Top Keywords E-learning, information quality, on-line learning, service quality, system quality. Top |
