Abstract The aim of the current survey is to develop new approaches to expand sport recreation activities based on experts` points of view in society. We used an applied survey which is carried out as descriptive survey. The data in our survey includes 128 sport experts working in offices of the Ministry of Sport and Youth in West Azarbaijan province. 99 individuals were randomly selected based on Morgan table. The tools we used to accumulate the data includes 30-question questionnaire. The veracity of the questionnaire was confirmed by eight experts. We attained the continuity of the questionnaire using Cronbach Alpha as 79%. To analyze data we applied descriptive data such as frequency percent, table and diagrams. It is worth mentioning that all statistic operations were carried out by SPSS-18 software. The results show that from the experts point of view providing suitable recreation facilities (72%), advertisement (66%), amelioration of economic situation of people (64%), holding competitions and giving awards (63%), providing sport facilities (53%), providing appropriate sport arenas(48%), employing sport experts in municipalities and governorates (36%) are among the most important factors.
