Abstract Companies resort to supply chain practices to improve their performance. The study was to find out the effects of supply chain management on the performance of seed companies. Two hundred and fifty respondents were sampled from 50 seed companies in the Gujarat state. Results showed that, three variables; cost reduction, structural adaptation and company information management were found to have positive significant effect on organizational performance. Cost reduction and structural adaptation were significant at 5 per cent level whiles company information management was significant at 1 per cent level using the logit model in SPSS following the balanced score card approach. This shows that seed companies should give more priority to cost reduction, structural adaptation and company information management in order to increase their performance.
