A Study of Factors Affecting Cultural Entrepreneurship and its Relation to Development and Employment (A Case of Special Economic Zone, Port of Imam Khomeini ‘gbuh’)

Abstract

The aim of the present article is to study the factors affecting cultural entrepreneurship and its relation to development and employment (A Case Study of Special Economic Zone, Port of Imam Khomeini ‘gbuh’). The method of the present research is of correlative type. The statistical population includes 80 managers of the Special Economic Zone in Imam Khomeini Port. The tools of collecting data include two questionnaires. One research-made questionnaire related to factors affecting cultural entrepreneurship with 25 questions. Its reliability level was assessed to be 0.84. The second one is the standard organisational entrepreneurship questionnaire relating to employment and development with reliability level at 0.71 Findings of this research showed that mental independence, individual's creativity and innovation, internal locus control, competitive intelligence and N-Ach (Need for achievement) can affect cultural entrepreneurship. Also, teaching cultural entrepreneurship to individuals bears a positive effect on employment. Results hereby obtained point to the fact that entrepreneurship with all its positive applications and consequences, has become the centre of attention for many developed and developing countries as a fundamental solution to resolving many domestic crises and problems in order to survive on the global competition scene. Moreover, entrepreneurship phenomenon is a process which can bring about the advancement of Iran's economy on the international scene.
