Abstract Insurance industry is considered as the most powerful and important economic entity supporting the other economic entities and households. Insurance industry in Iran has seen changes in recent decades which lead to competitiveness. Considering the intense competitions, efficiency and productivity are considered as to be a requirement and it can be said that the insurance companies operating in this industry in Iran must constantly monitor performance of the company, its subsidiaries and agencies. Therefore, in this paper, the agencies of Iran Insurance Company are evaluated using a multi-criteria data envelopment analysis technique. Using classical DEA models are often faced with two problems. One problem is the lack of discriminate power and the other is an unrealistic weight distribution between the inputs and outputs.
