Financial Delivery Systems for Accelerating Agriculture Growth and Poverty Reduction Pandey Tushar, Krishan Nagahari, Vickers Venetia, Ghosh Shashwati, Balasubramanian Arvind Strategic Initiative, Government & Advisory (SIGA) Group, Yes Bank Ltd Online published on 9 October, 2012. Abstract The paper has portrayed a burgeoning need for new financial delivery systems to be created and that ICT is going to be the backbone of this revolution. These new delivery mechanisms aim not only at introducing cashless payments but also at greater financial inclusion by being more affordable and easily available to everyone. Banking correspondents, NGOs, SHGs, MFIs and of course the government have a major role to play in the successful take off and long-term establishment of credit and financial delivery systems in rural India. Mobile banking, PDAs, online tools, insurance and other cashless financial delivery systems would go a long way in accelerating agricultural growth and reducing poverty. There would also be the need for institutional and policy frameworks that would support the changes required to embrace the change in technology, outlook and methods.
