Credit Linked Commodity Markets in Andhra Pradesh Sowjanya B., Rao D. V. Subba College of Agriculture, ANGRAU, Hyderabad – 500 030, Andhra Pradesh Online published on 9 October, 2012. Abstract The study has examined the linkages of credit and commission agents in three markets drawn from three districts of Andhra Pradesh. For the study a sample of 45 commission agents was selected randomly from the markets of Warangal, Tandur and Kurnool districts. Multiple linear regression was employed to study the factors influencing the profit of the middlemen. The coefficients of multiple determination for these three markets have been found to be 0.82, 086, and 0.89, respectively. The quantum of credit provided by the commission agents in all the three selected markets has been found significant. The expenses of commission agents have depicted a negative but significant effect in the Warangal and Tandur markets. Delayed payment by the commission agents to the farmers has shown a negative significant effect on commission agent's profit in all the markets. Top Keywords Credit, commission agents, agricultural market committee, Andhra Pradesh. Top | |
