Applicability, implementation and globalization: revisiting Indian employee ethos for analysing the present work scenario in the NCR

The laws related to labour in India are primarily connoted under the "Industrial Law". Industrial laws have vastly awakened the workers for their knowledge of their rights, particularly after the advent of Independence. Industrial relations embrace a complex tripartite relationship between the workers, employers and government, defining the employment terms and conditions. The socialistic ethos of the post independence has increased the expectations of the working class. With the advent of globalization, the multi-national companies have settled in India thereby making the subject of labour even more varied and the role of labour laws more challenging. The question arises whether in the present scenario these laws are followed by the companies or not. This paper, by discussing the various Labour Laws present in India and through an independent survey, strives to underline its applicability, implementation in the present era of globalization thereby bringing forth the loopholes and limitations.
